Tulum is located south of the Riviera Maya in Quintana Roo, in southeastern Mexico. It is 118 km south of Cancun airport and 65 km from Playa del Carmen.

Water and waves conditions

You must try to stay away from the beach and other low places that can be affected by the high tides and waves that are usually generated by the intensity of strong winds. In these situations, the sea acquires extraordinary conditions and can drag you if you are in the proximity of the sea.

Avoid the use of boats and check their moorings. Do not play water sports whenever it can be avoided. Do not stand at the end of piers or jetties, or risk taking photos or videos near where the waves break.

On the beach there are also assigned places to deposit garbage; In case you can't find them, remember to bring a bag to deposit packaging, cans or other waste. Then deposit them in the hotel bins, so you contribute to taking care of the beach and prevent another person from getting hurt by any waste.
